My Story
To me, the most important thing in life is to tell a truth as purely as possible, and that belief is deeply entwined in everything I do. A large part of my career stems from my ability to cultivate an intuitive understanding of stories that need to be told and spearheading the project from there.

My time at Harding University has given me much more than simply a Bachelor's degree. I have learned how to accept adversity and challenges with open arms. One great example of this would be how I started my television career as an outsider that had never dealt with broadcasting before, as well as being the only black female in the television program. I started my career as a secondary camera operator for basketball game broadcasts. While there were many times that I had to deal with the backhanded compliments and those that felt I didn't belong being anything more than a camera operator, I felt the need to show others and myself that the broadcasting industry is where I belonged. Through the mentorship of a former CNN producer and other professors, I managed to rise to the position of the head director over all of HU16 News.

As a passionate and detail-oriented industry professional, I enjoy approaching complex projects with a holistic approach. Being born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, I had early exposure to the fast-paced world of politics, news, and storytelling. While I learned about storytelling back at home, I learned about the variety of stories that surround us once I went to the deep south for college. It was during my time in Arkansas that I developed my love for storytelling, especially for telling stories that people aren't used to hearing.
