Professional History

Needless to say, I like to work a lot.

Digital Editor, The Link for HU16 News

January 2019 - Present

This is my most recently added position and I am excited to see where this adventure takes me. I've always wanted to be some type of editor or producer but ever since I joined the HU16 News team nearly 3 years ago, I never really got the opportunity to do something that was outside my natural technical abilities. It's ironic because while there are some editorial aspects of being the digital editor, there are still some technical aspects, as I am responsible for making sure the website physically works properly. Either way, I consider becoming the digital editor as a win in my book.

Head Director, HU16's Live at 5

January 2018 - Present

When I say that I love to direct, I mean it. This job was and still is the most important thing to me for a couple of reasons: I had the opportunity to develop close relationships with many people, including the president of Harding University, but more importantly, I have the chance to create a new piece of artwork that can change someone's life, or at least someone's day.

Director, HU16's Live 2018 Midterm Election Special

November 6, 2018

This was the best and worst day while working at HU16 News (thus far). While I didn't anticipate the chaos that goes into figuring out election results and putting together a "breaking news" cut-in, all while the numbers were constantly being updated, I loved the thrill that came at the end of the night that I helped produce something that was a true service to the people of White County, Arkansas. Side bit, that is my favorite aspect of my job in any sense: that what I'm doing is providing something valuable and irreplaceable to people that might never know me and that's worth any stress that comes with being the head director. To be honest though, I think doing it once every other year is enough for now.

Studio Engineer, Harding Sports Network

This is the job that I have the most fun with because in order for any and all sports productions to be broadcasted worldwide, they have to come through me.

January 2017 - Present

Director, HU16's Coaches Show

September 2018 - December 2018

As one of the more unexpected job promotions, it was one of my favorites. I had the opportunity to work with the Harding Sports Network, my former employer, as well as the people that comprise sports lifeline of Harding University. The only unfortunate thing about the job was the fact that the season only runs in the fall, therefore my time working at this position was short-lived but fun, regardless.

Associate Director, HU16's Live At 5

September 2017 - January 2018

I remember the day I got promoted to associate director, I couldn't believe it, mainly because I had been trying to get that position for 2 news seasons at that point. This job was the turning point for my life, as through it, I learned what it really meant to be responsible for leading a team, daily nonetheless.

Broadcast News Producer, KVHU 95.3 FM

January 2016 - May 2018

This was my longest running job that I have ever completed and it was the most painful thing having to leave the studios of KVHU 95.3.  For the time being, it is uncertain if I will have the chance to return to the radio waves, but constantly hope and pray to one day continue being "the voice of Harding University."

Communication Intern, Voice of America

I'm not sure that I will work in the government ever again, but if I do, this was the experience that convinced me that I should.

June 2017 - July 2017

Technical Director, HU16's Live at 5

This was my first major production job, of which I did in tandem with graphic designing, as that was still a joint position at that time (it no longer is).

January 2017 - May 2017

Graphic Designer, HU16's Live at 5

This was my first major production job, of which I did in tandem with technical directing, as that was still a joint position at that time (it no longer is).

January 2017 - May 2017

Camera Operator, Harding Sports Network

January 2017 - May 2017

The older I become, the more I realize that this job was imperative in getting me to where I am today. As Drake might say, I "started from the bottom, now I'm here." This job was the catalase in allowing me to get hired by the current company that I work for. While yes, when I worked as a camera operator, all I did was exactly that, operate cameras. But rather than consider myself as a grunt with no future as an operator, I wanted to do the best work that I possibly could, every day that I could, of which proved to work out in my favor.

Telemarketing & Communications Associate, Harding University

September 2015 - November 2015

This was a job that I never thought that I'd do in a million years. It's not exactly every child's dream to be a telemarketer. But when you are a broke college student and you have to eat somehow, you do what you got to do. Even so, I actually enjoyed working as a telemarketer, hindsight mind you, as it taught me how to deal with rejection very quickly. I would say that experience was more valuable than anything else.

Communication Intern, InsPR Media

May 2015 - January 2016

This the first job that I ever worked and it was the only job I ever quit. Although, it was confusing and complicated as I technically was never legally hired so I couldn't quit, also if you ask my former "employer," I think that she thinks she fired me, but I digress. I enjoyed working here as I did have the ability to expand my network, meet new future mentors, an expand my world beyond what thought it to be. While it was unfortunate that I did not leave the company on good terms, I will say it was an experience I felt that I had to go through and I wouldn't trade that for anything.
